August 2020

Summer is over. We had one more weird thing happen in 2020. A derecho. It's pretty much a hurricane without all of the ocean water and flooding. The boys were getting perms during this crazy storm. The power went out and we could see the crazy wind outside the hair salon windows. We had to leave there without paying and without cuts because there was so power. The town was a mess! Trees down everywhere, shingles ripped off, fences destroyed. The winds were insane. Our playground got knocked over and ruined. We had a few missing shingles but nothing too bad. The start of the school was delayed a few days so everyone could get power, clean up, etc. We had an extra long summer since school ended in March! It's been 5 months since we've been to school. Things are not back to normal yet. We are starting the school year in hybrid. Basically the kids will go to school 2-3 days a week (half of the school is group 1 and half of the school is group 2). The other 1-2 days, the kids will be required to do school work at home. I will be at school everyday and I'm looking forward to smaller class sizes! Last year of daycare for Callaway and last year of elementary school for Heisman!

July 2020

The world is slowly opening again. Masks are required at a lot of places and stores/restaurants are limited on the number of people. So many things have gone virtual or remote. Thank goodness for technology! July has been busy with baseball and kid activities. Callaway did a princess dance camp and loved it! Heisman hit his first homerun of the season and then two days later, he hit another one. Tony and I went on our annual Missouri lake trip with friends and made it back just in time to see Madden's team win a ring. Heisman turned 11 and we had fun celebrating him.
