Catching up

I need to do a better job of updating this blog!!  Here is a quick snapshot of the last 2 months....

Halloween...
Heisman chose to be Luigi for Halloween.  He got to choose from about 3 dinosaur costumes, 2 super heroes, a power ranger, inflatable car and maybe even a few more (thanks to his older cousins!!).  He went trick or treating with his cousins and I stayed home with Madden.  I think he only made it about 45 minutes because he just couldn't keep up with the fast pace of the older boys!  That's ok because he had fun handing out candy.  On a side note, the Kline boys and Kinley ended up with a TON of candy!!!  Tony weighed himself with and without all of the candy and it was 50 lbs!  Not kidding!! Crazy!

Baptism....
We had Madden baptized the middle of November.  It was great to get all of the family together!

One month and a few pictures....
It's crazy how quickly time goes with a new baby!  Madden is a really good baby and Heisman is a wonderful big brother!  He is so proud of his baby brother and it's so cute seeing him talk and love him!  I'm trying to bribe him to change diapers but he's not there yet... just kidding.  Heisman still goes to daycare 3-4 days a week and that is so nice for everyone!  It's nice for Heisman to play and stay in a routine.  It's nice for me to get a few things done (and maybe a nap) and cuddle as much as I want with Madden.  Two kids are a lot of work at this stage!  I can't wait until the boys can actually play together and be best buds :)

Madden Michael Dickinson

On Tuesday, October 23rd at 10:09 am we welcomed Madden Michael Dickinson into this world!!!  He was 8 lbs 6 oz and 20.5 inches long.  I was pretty surprised when Tony said, "it's a boy!"  I thought we were having a girl.  I'm so excited to have another little boy and I can't wait for Heisman and Madden to get into trouble and become best buds :) Heisman is a proud big brother and is doing an amazing job being patient and helping whenever he can.  Love these boys!!!

Fall fun

We are staying busy like always!  We spent a day at Adventureland with the Klines (my sister's family) and Heisman had a blast!  He loves anything involving his cousins and all of the fun rides were definitely a bonus.  We went on a cool Sunday and the park was not very busy so we rarely had to wait in line.  It was the perfect time to go!.... We also had a little "campfire" one night and roasted some marshmallows.  Heisman wouldn't eat the toasted ones but he liked to put them in the fire.... We made our annual trip to the Center Grove Apple Orchard and did the corn pool, hayride, jumpy pillow, big slide, etc.  That place is so much fun!..... This is our last weekend as a family of 3!  Baby #2 will be joining us next week!  Heisman is convinced that it's a girl and always says "she" or "my baby sister."  I guess we'll see if he's right!  I'm finally ready at home and work so I feel like the countdown is on now!

San Diego

Last month we took a family vacation to San Diego.  Tony's parents came with us and his sister met us there as well.  The weather was perfect and Heisman was such a great traveler and sleeper!! We were really busy for a few days.  Legoland was fun but waiting in lines wasn't!  The zoo was great and we would only spend a few minutes at each animal and then Heisman would say, "Let's keep moving."  He didn't want to stop for very long.  At SeaWorld he got to feed the sea lions and penguins and see the dolphins and whales do some awesome tricks.  The rest of the time was spent at the beach where we played in the sand, splashed in the water and raced away from the waves.  We had a great time!

Doesn't Tony look way too big for this ride?!?! Hilarious!

3rd birthday!

I can't believe Heisman is already three years old!!!!  We had a little party on his birthday at our house with some local family and friends where we enjoyed a yummy Spiderman cake.  He got a new bike, a necklace (like his cousins) and a ton of dinosaurs!  He was so excited about his birthday party!  Over the next two weeks we traveled to Algona and celebrated with more cake and presents and saw Tony's family as well.  It was a 2 week birthday celebration with three different cakes :)

I interviewed him on his bday and here is what it went like:

Summerfest

Last weekend was Ankeny's summer celebration, Summerfest.  We took Heisman to the carnival on Thursday night where he rode a few rides and played the duck pond game.  He loved the rides, especially the Sizzler with Tony!  Of course Tony had to play the basketball game!  We also went to the parade on Saturday which was super hot!!!  Heisman got a bucket full of candy but was ready to leave the parade after an hour and a half.  I think the parade lasts 2+ hours!  Since we had plenty of candy and he was really sweaty we left early.  I was kind of glad he wanted to leave too :)
