More fun times

We had such a great summer together! One day I told Tony that his was my best summer yet. Also this was probably my last summer of Heisman napping. I love nap time! These boys are so fun and silly. We definitely have moments with tears or raised voices but who doesn't? I loved every minute!

Madden has his hand in his pants way too much! Such a boy!

Ready, set, go!

The YMCA does a little fun run for kids one saturday in the summer. I tried to get Heisman pumped up to try a mile run but after a night of practice (jog/walk to the gas station for a smoothie) he decided that this wasn't his year for the mile run. So he ran in the 25 and 50 yard dash. He did great! I think he was 2nd and 3rd but everybody gets a blue ribbon. Madden participated in the 25 yard dash and it was so adorable! He took off and ran right to the finish line and then kept going! One of the volunteers had to stop him otherwise who knows how long he would have gone. I think he got 2nd place and a blue ribbon. It was so fun to watch and we all enjoyed it!

Triad

When Heisman was younger I use to take him to the Triad gymnastics place every once in awhile. He loved it! He still asks to go every once in awhile and we decided to check it out. This was Madden's first time there and of course he loved it too.

Fair

We took a trip to the Kossuth County Fair this summer to see Morgan compete for the fair queen. She did great! Of course we had to ride all of the rides while we there. Heisman got a wrist band for unlimited rides and boy did we get our moneys worth from that! It wasn't very busy so he went on a ton of rides! Madden was just a tad bit too short so he could only do a few rides but he watched Heisman and kept saying, "my turn" over and over.

Heisman is five!

Wow! How fast have the last five years gone? Heisman turned five this summer and he is such a big kid now! He could have started kindergarten but we've always wanted to wait until he was six years old. Last year he was one of the youngest kids in his preschool class and he was such a follower. Always wanting to do this, wear this, play this, because some other kids was. Now he is the oldest and his teacher has said she has had a handful of parents ask who Heisman was because their son/daughter talks about him and wants to do this, wear this, etc because Heisman does :) I'm glad we waited so he can be more of a leader. Plus, he's such a good kid at school! So proud of him!
Back to birthday.....

Water play

We spend a lot of time at the Ankeny pools in the summer but we mix it up with some water fun of our own. The boys love the sprinklers, kid pool, slip and slide, water table and Heisman's favorite - water balloons!
