Heisman turned six years old this summer!!! That is crazy! We opened a few presents in the morning and a few after supper and invited the neighbor kids over for cake on his actual birthday. He is still into Skylanders and recently starting collecting Pokemon cards. We also had a school friend birthday party at the Little Gym in West Des Moines. The kids had a blast! Heisman will be starting kindergarten this year and has really grown up. He is a wonderful big brother and really watches out for Madden. He knows Madden's allergies and whenever we have a babysitter Heisman is very helpful and can answer most questions. He can also translate for us when we aren't sure what Madden is saying! He is amazing and we love him so much!

4th of July
It's become a neighborhood tradition to hang out on the 4th of July and kids (and grown ups) always have a fun time. We actually spent the 3rd at the I Cubs game and enjoyed the fireworks then went to the parade in Slater on the morning of the 4th. Boys got way too much candy! Then we went with some friends to the lake and enjoyed the weather. Finally, a BBQ, fire pit and sparklers with the neighbors. Good times!!!!
Cape Cod
We took a little family vacation out to Cape Cod in July. The four of us, Tony's parents and Kristi and her boyfriend Mark rented a house for 5 days. It was great to spend some quality family time together and Kristi and Mark love to cook so they took care of almost every meal! That was amazing! We did a little sight seeing around town and hit up the beach 3 of the days. The boys loved playing in the sand and they enjoyed the water. One day the water had a lot of seaweed (which they didn't like) and another day the beach was pretty rocky (which was hard to be in the water without shoes) but for the most part we all had a blast at the beach. We even saw a seal swim by! Everyone traveled well on the plane and Madden is still asking me if we can to the airport today!
Baseball
This season in baseball Heisman was in coach front toss. It was a little more exciting than t ball. They are all still learning so they didn't play outs but Heisman can definitely hit that ball! He is never real excited about sports (yet, we hope) so I feel like he doesn't really try that hard. Hopefully someday something clicks and he has the desire to play because this kid can be awesome if he wanted to be! Of course Madden had to bring his bat, ball and glove and play off on the side. He can't wait to play! As soon as the game was done, we would let Madden run out on the field and he wanted to hit and run just like Heisman does. Watch out Heisman, Madden is right behind you!
