Santa

We went to the Bass Pro Shop for our annual Santa visit with the Kline family.  I was really surprised that Madden did so well with Santa!  I thought he was going to freak out but he didn't mind at all.  Heisman asked Santa for Zoomer, the robot puppy.  After we saw Santa we had supper and then checked out all of the neat stuff in the store.  While we were back by the big fish tank in the back I lost Heisman!!!  He was with Carter and Cale playing in the hunting tents and I went to go tell Kelly that I was taking Heisman to the bathroom.  When I walked back over to the tents the boys were hiding.  I found Carter and Cale but could not find Heisman!!! Ahh!  Kelly and I split up about 2 minutes later we heard on the loud speaker, "can Kim and Tony please come to the service desk." Luckily Heisman wandered up front and the employees noticed he looked a little lost and asked him if he was looking for his mom and dad and asked if he knew our names.  Whew!  I asked him where he went and he said he didn't see me so he went to find me.  He must not have seen me walk over to Kelly and then decided to try and find me.  Anyway, we survived!

Christmas tree

Heisman was ready to put the Xmas tree up about a week before Thanksgiving because we had a light snow one day.  I made him wait until after Thanksgiving.  He was such a big help!  He did most of the bottom branches and I put on the top rows and lights.  We don't have many ornaments on the tree because I was nervous Madden would attack them but he has been great with it. 

First snow

Our first time out in the snow this winter was fun!  This was actually Maddens first time in the snow ever.  He had a hard time walking in all of his gear and didn't really like wearing the gloves but he got over it quick.  The snow was super light and fluffy so we couldn't have a snowball fight or even make a snowman :(  Maybe next time.  Heisman and I took Madden for a walk and he just loved being outside.

Kid Captain

Heisman and his cousins got to be Kid Captains at a UNI football game a few weeks ago.  He had a blast!!!  Tony and Jeremy took the boys over and they said it was an amazing experience.  They were down on the field for the start of the game.  Their names were announced over the speakers and put on the big screen and they ran out with the football team.  They were also a part of the coin toss.  After watching on the side line for a little while they all went up to the suite and attacked the concession stand!!  So fun for all of them :)

 

 

Halloween

Heisman picked to be Heat Blast from Ben 10 this year.  He picked this from his collection of costumes that were handed down from his cousins.  He does love Ben 10 though.  Madden was a cute little pumpkin.  The weather was great!  We had the cousins come over and they brought a few friends.  Last year they collected 51 lbs of candy!!!  They were all determined to beat that this year.  I took the boys home after 45 minutes and we handed out candy at our house.  Heisman loved this!  He was really good at it too.  One time he closed the door and looked at me and said, "mom, those little kids are just so cute." 

Mexico

Tony and I went to a friend's wedding in Mexico the last weekend in October.  Our friends Armondo and Heather got married.  It was such a beautiful wedding!  The trip was great and relaxing.  We spent most of the time catching up with friends at the pool/beach and enjoying the all inclusive deals!  The boys got to hang with my mom for a few days and Tony's mom and sister for a few days.  They did great and everyone had fun!

 

 

One year old!!!

How can it already be one year!!!  Madden did not enjoy his birthday cake!  He was very curious at first but once he put his hands in it, he was not happy!  I'm not sure if he didn't like the mess or what but no smashing this year.  He did enjoy his presents and Heisman loved opening all of them for him :)  He now has 8 teeth and has taken a step or two but no actual walking.  I think he weighs about 24 lbs.  He doesn't have his one year well check until next week.  He is so silly and is pretty relaxed.  He does give out some great hugs and cuddles!  Loves his big brother and is kind of a mama's boy (just like Heisman).

Adventureland

This is Heisman's second time being to Adventureland.  He was pretty brave and went on some of the "big" rides that he wasn't tall enough for last year.  Those included the Tornado, Log ride and the Falling star.  I think he was a little scared on the rides but he had to keep up with his cousins!  Those boys are making him grow up too fast!  He did not like being soaked on the log ride at all!!!
