Lesson learned

Please don't judge me and think I'm a horrible mother after reading this blog! 

Heisman and I just finished supper and I started the bath water.  He thinks it's funny when I chase him around the house before his bath.  So I was chasing him around and we ran into the living room.  He turned and ran back towards the bathroom and I grabbed a few dishes from supper and threw them in the sink.  (Seriously about 10 seconds).  I walked back towards the bathroom and found him IN THE TUB!  He was completely dressed and just playing in the water.  I had no idea he could get into the tub on his own.  Now I know and lesson learned!

Man Cave

Most of you know how quickly your house fills up with toys from having a baby.... Tony has always said that he wants the basement to be "toy free."  Yeah right!!!!

In Heisman's defense, Tony was the one who made this awesome blanket fort in the basement.  Plus, it looks like he enjoys it too :)



Silly

Heisman has been into Sesame Street lately.  He loves it!  Whenever it comes on, he gets all silly.  This is a short video of him dancing around. I was also recording it with the regular video camera so you see a little of that in here (sorry).

Snow fun!

I layered on the clothes and took Heisman out for his first time of playing in the snow.  I think he had a lot of fun!  My cousin's daughter, Kinley, was here to play with us :)  Tony was working on the driveway while we were playing and Kinley was helping a little (she was also throwing snow balls at him, ha)!

Heisman squared

Hummel's Nissan in Des Moines displays the Heisman trophy for about a week every year.  Last year Tony took Heisman there to get his picture taken and I took him this year.  Plus, Heisman is wearing his Dowling jersey.  Tony's cousin, Connor Bravard, is their quarterback.  Dowling won the state championship a few weeks ago so we're big time Dowling fans!!

Growing up

The last few months have been so much fun!  Heisman has quite the personality these days.  He makes some really funny faces and copies everything we do.  He's also a big helper!  He throws away his diapers, brushes his teeth, washes his hair and body in the tub, text messages and helps cook and clean up.  So he really can't do all of that on his own, but he definitely tries!

Allergic reaction

Last week Heisman had an ear infection (only his 2nd one) so I was giving him amoxicillin.  After a week of medicine, he broke out in hives!  I took him back to the doctor and it turns out he's allergic to amoxicillin.  Luckily his ear infection was cleared up so he didn't have to switch to a different medicine.  So I just stopped giving him his medicine and he gets some benadryl to help with his hives.  He is acting normal and doesn't seem to mind the hives.  Thank goodness because they look horrible!  Poor guy :(
