Bring on summer!

Finally school is out and it's summer! We have been pretty busy so far at home. Some days are not that exciting but the boys don't seem to mind. We kind of base our day on Callaway's naps and feedings. We started off summer with a trip to Algona. The kids had a lot of fun and were awesome! We came back for a week of vacation bible school and the rest of the time has been filled with the pool, outside play, a few science experiments and just hanging out!

Three months

Three months marks the end of my maternity leave. I was lucky enough to get an extra week in there with spring break but unlucky in my request to be done with school for the summer. So I have to go back for 11 days. We have my mom, Allison, Tony's mom and Allison again lined up to watch Callaway so we don't have to start daycare until August.... We also decided it was time for the boys to share a room! Eek! Madden moved into Heisman's room and now they have bunk beds. The first few nights were a little crazy. They were silly and excited to be sharing a room and after 15 minutes Heisman was tired and ready for bed. Madden continued to party on his own for another 30 minutes at least. This also means that Callaway is in her own room and crib. I miss not sleeping right next to my baby! She is waking up a few times which is a bummer because she was sleeping awesome in her rock and play thing. I'm hoping she gets use to the open feel of the crib soon!

Two months

Two months?!?! Callaway had her two month well check and she is growing but definitely not a beast like her brothers. She weighed in at 12 lbs 10 oz and stretched out 22.5 inches. She had to have her booster shots and those are never fun but she did pretty well. She loves her baths and her brothers (when she's awake). She has had a few nights of sleeping 4-5 hours but most of the time it's close to 3 hours. We are hoping the weather warms up and the wind settles down so we can take some walks outside.

One month and baptism

One month already? I have enjoyed every minute with my last baby. My mom stayed with us for a week and that was awesome! It was so nice having her here to help us adjust from a family of four to five. I think she really enjoyed all the cuddle time too. I'm definitely tired, but I love the baby snuggles. Some mornings I'm on auto pilot. I wake the boys up, get them breakfast and dressed, then off to school/daycare. Once we are back home, I try to get a few things done around the house and sneak a nap in there as well.... We celebrated Callaway's baptism and looked adorable! The gown she wore was mine (and Kelly's)!

Easter

It was cold the day of the Easter hunt! There were snow showers off and on all day. The boys had fun at the egg hunt and got some goodies at home from the Easter Bunny.... Also, Allison gave Callaway her first bottle and the boys gave her a bottle as well.

It's a girl!!! Wow, was I surprised! We had a scheduled c section set for February 22 so it was nice to have everything lined up for the boys and ready to go at home and work. I wasn't scheduled until 1 pm and I was told not to eat or drink anything that morning. That is a long time to wait! So I had just ONE apple slice. The hospital called and said they were running ahead of schedule and asked if I could come in early. Of course! That was awesome! Once we checked in, everything was going smooth and quick.... until the anesthesiologist came in. I was about 10 minutes away from surgery and he asked if I had anything to eat or drink. I was honest and told him about my ONE apple slice. Big mistake! Turns out, it could take up to six hours for my body to digest that silly little slice so he told me and my doctor that we had to wait until 1:30-2:00 pm (even later than my original time). Ugh!!! Anyway, we finally got into surgery and I was so shocked when the doctor said, "It's a girl!" I had a few tears and realized our family is now complete. Callaway Kristine was born at 2:05 pm. Weighing 7 lbs 12 oz and 19 inches long. The boys are so excited to have a baby sister. We can't wait to add lots of pink to our lives!
