5 months

We started some cereal with Madden and he is doing a great job with it.  So far we only give it to him at supper time but we will soon add another feeding during the day.  He is sitting up by himself really well.  He is a little slouched over but he can keep his balance for a few minutes.  He can still only roll one way and that's back to belly and some times gets fussy when he's stuck on his belly.  Every once in awhile we find him sleeping on his belly :)  He still sucks his thumb but mostly when he's tired.  Love that thumb!!!  He does like to chew and put things in his mouth which Heisman never did.  Probably because Heisman was always sucking on his pacifier!

We celebrated Easter with my sister and her family.  They came over for Easter supper and then we had a glow in the dark egg hunt with the boys.  Kelly found the idea on Pinterest and the boys loved it!  Heisman found the eggs and gifts from the Easter Bunny and we were able to go outside and try his new kite.

Spring break

Over spring break we flew out to Arizona for some friends, family and fun!  The boys did great on the flight out and we were so excited to be in warm weather!  The first few days we stayed with some good friends, the McCabes.  Tony took Heisman to a Cubs spring training game with some friends and while they were there, Tony said he spent $50 on yummy treats.  Hot dog, popcorn, cotton candy, snow cones, etc.  He said when ordering his snow cone, Heisman told the guy he wanted two :)  It was fun staying with our friends so we could catch up and the kids played outside and went through the sprinkler a few times. 

The last half of our trip was spent at my Grandparent's place.  They have a place in Apache Junction that they go to every winter.  It was really fun there because they have a pool and miniature golf!  We also hiked up a little mountain called Silly Mountain and went to an old "ghost town."  My cousin Heather and her daughter Kinley were there as well so that was nice! 

Overall the boys did great!  Madden didn't sleep that well the first few nights but I'm not really sure why.  I thought maybe he was getting a tooth but who knows.  He did better as the trip went on.  With the two hour time change he was usually up by 6 (some mornings it was 445)!  Oh well.  We all had fun and ended up coming home to cold weather and snow :(

4 months

I can't believe how fast these last few months have gone!  Madden is 4 months (almost 5)!!  He is such a good baby.  Rarely fussy, sleeps all night, sucks his thumb, rolls from back to belly, talks, laughs and is so much fun!  Heisman has been great with Madden from the start but now is really taking more interest now that he can get him to laugh and smile at him.  I don't have Heisman changing diapers yet but he's a good helper :)  At Madden's 4 month check up he weighed 18 lbs 13 oz and was 26 3/8 inches long.  Big boy!  We will start cereal after we get back from Phoenix.

February

I am back at work now and miss my boys!  Maternity leave was great! November was a little rough with Madden eating every 2-3 hours all day and night.  December was better and I was able to take him Xmas shopping with me a lot!  January was great!  I still took Heisman to Katie's 3-4 days a week but some days I didn't get him there until 10 or so.  He was pretty good about going to daycare but every once in awhile he was sad when I dropped him off and said he wanted to just stay home.  I know he had fun at Katie's, probably more fun than at home with me some days.  It was hard when I needed to feed Madden and Heisman wanted to play.  He probably watched a little too much TV November and December!  Once Madden started sleeping well at night, life was so much better!  Heisman went to Kids Gym two mornings a week at the Y and one morning of story time at the library.  We usually followed up story time with a trip to Burger King or McDonald's with some friends.  Madden is such a relaxed baby and barely cries. Such a good baby!!!  He is so close to rolling over and I told him he has to do it at home first.  Work was easy to get back into my regular routine.  The evenings are crazy busy with feedings, supper, baths, bottles, etc.  One of Heisman's favorite things to do is dance downstairs.  We have a mattress on the floor from when my family visited.  It's been there for 3 months!  He loves playing music on my phone and showing us his "cool dance moves."  It's really fun to watch :)

I got some 3 month pictures of Madden taken and was also able to get a few updated ones of Heisman as well.  It was so nice that we took the pictures outside!  Crazy!

3 months

We are having so much fun with the boys these days.  Madden is smiling and cooing and Heisman is always trying to figure out what he's saying.  Madden is sleeping through the night most nights, thank goodness for that thumb!!!  We took the boys to an Iowa basketball game and they both did great!  It is crazy is how much Madden looks like Heisman!  I will put a 3 month picture of Heisman in here to show you....

The next two are Heisman at 3 months
