March

Heisman is such a funny kid!  Not only does he entertain us with his actions and imagination, but also his words.  One morning Heisman and I were up earlier than Tony and I said we should go wake up Dad and he said, "No, he's probably on his phone."  A few days later Tony was taking Heisman downstairs to play and he said we should ask Mom to come with us and Heisman said, "She's probably shopping."  Ha!  Does he know us or what?!  He will also call us by our "real" names every once in awhile too which is funny to hear.  We were able to enjoy the nice weather the last few days and it really gets me ready for the summer!  I am on spring break this week and then we only have about 8 weeks left of the school year!  Woo hoo!

Such a helper...."washing" the dishes (really just playing with bubbles in the sink)

He likes to drive :)  He tells me to sit in the back and he drives me to Katie's house (his daycare) and then he goes to work.  He even asks me if I want music!

February

We had a great February!  Heisman loved taking his valentine's to his friends at daycare!   I let him pick out his own valentines and treat to go with.  He had a hard time deciding between Cars and dinosaurs but dinosaurs won!  He also picked little granola bars to go with them.  I was surprised he didn't pick candy!

We just celebrated my 8th birthday!!!  Most of you know that I have a Leap Year bday so this year I had a "real" birthday :)  My family was in town last weekend to celebrate but unfortunately Heisman and I were both sick so the party was at my sister's house and we did a little facetime chat with them!  We did manage to celebrate a little over lunch.  I got an awesome 8 year old bday gift!  Basically everything I got the first time I turned 8.... Cyndi Lauper CD, New Kids on the Block CD (although back in the day these were cassette tapes), glitter baton, candy, nail polish, books, Barbie, hair scrunchies and Garbage Pail Kids cards!!  It was such a neat idea and I love it!!!

Only 2 more weeks until spring break so the countdown is on!  We don't have much planned but it will be nice to have a week off!!!

Neighbors

We LOVE our neighborhood!!!  There are so many great kids around for Heisman to play with (and some are even old enough to babysit).  Our neighborhood reminds me of the good old days.  Kids are out playing all day long and parents are chillin with an adult beverage :)  I am really looking forward to this summer.  Now that Heisman is a little older he can join in on the kick ball games, hide and seek, basketball or whatever fun there is!.... Santa got him a power wheels four wheeler for Christmas and since we've had such nice weather lately, he's been able to ride with his friend Keaton (who is 2 days older).

A few funny stories....
I mentioned before how Heisman is sneaky and used the excuse of going to the bathroom to get out of church.  Well, the other day at church there was a mom that took her "loud" daughter out and Heisman asked me where they were going.  I said that she must be in trouble.  He thought about it for a minute and then said, "Mom, I want to be in trouble."................
Tony and I went out for dinner last week with some friends and my shirt was a little flashy with sequins on it.  Heisman asked if Tony and I were going dancing.  Then he preceded with asking if we were going to hold hands and dance :)..................
At daycare the older boys were talking about friends from school and each one started naming their best friend.  Heisman said, "My mom is my best friend."...Awwwwww!!!!.....

Snow much fun!

We were able to go outside last weekend and play in the snow.  It was perfect for building a snowman!  We were probably outside for almost an hour and we had so much fun :)

Heisman is going to be one sneaky kid!  The other night at church he said, "Mom, I have to go potty."  Tony and I looked at each other a little surprisingly because we haven't done much with potty training and he never tells us when he has to go.  I asked him if he wanted to go potty in the toilet and he said, "Yes, I need to pee in the toilet."  Ok!  So we walked out into the hallway at church and headed towards the bathrooms.  Once we got there he decided that he didn't have to go to the bathroom anymore!  That stinker!  He sees other kids leaving during church sometimes and asks me where they are going and I usually say that they are going to the bathroom.  I think he used that line to get out of church!  He will probably be that kid that has to go to the bathroom every time at church :)
Heisman has been such a fun and silly kid lately.  We might have a little class clown too!  He definitely loves to entertain us!  I'm also happy with how well he listens and has very good manners (most of the time).  I will have to give some credit to Katie (daycare) for helping us out with that!
He is growing up so fast!!!!

Christmas break

We had a great Christmas break!!!  We did a little traveling, celebrated with family and friends, Heisman had a few days with a stomach bug :( and we got a new car!  Whew!  We were busy but it was a lot of fun!  We have way too many toys in our house now!  Heisman loved opening presents and wanted to open all of them right away!  Some of Heisman's favorite things these days are his dinosaurs and hide and seek.  He also likes to play with little action figures and it's super cute to hear him talking and using his imagination while playing!  Oh, he LOVES playing anything (especially guns) with his cousins!

Santa

We went to visit Santa last week and Heisman did surprisingly well!  Last year he was pretty afraid of Santa but this year he sat on his lap and told him what he wanted for Xmas.  It probably helped that he had his older cousins with him :)  If you ask Heisman what he wants this year he says movies and toys.  Funny!  We also have The Elf on the Shelf at our house and his name is Buster.  Heisman loves finding him every day and I will sometimes talk to Buster when Heisman isn't being the best listener and half of the time Heisman instantly starts listening.  I don't think he quite gets the whole Santa business yet but he is excited about all of the Christmas stuff.  We had a few Xmases over the weekend and he was very patient and waited his turn to open his presents.  He is getting so many neat toys from grandparents that I could probably take back all of the toys from us and he would be happy!  We have a few more Xmases this week but we'll be home in time to throw some cookies in the oven and get ready for Santa :)

Christmas tree

This is going to be one fun Christmas!  Heisman is just so excited about everything... lights, ornaments, snowmen, Santa, presents... :)  He really enjoyed putting the ornaments on the tree.  He put them all on and took them off and put them back on again at least twice.  He is such a helper these days too!
