Happy Halloween

We had a great time trick or treating this year!  Heisman's cousins (Carter, Caden and Cale) came to our house so we all went together.  Heisman loves being with his cousins and tried to keep up with them all night.  He probably only did an hour of trick or treating and ate way too much candy!!!

Parade

The big Band Day Parade was the first weekend in October and Heisman had a blast!  He was a little slow at picking up the candy the first few minutes of  the parade but once he figured it out, watch out!  He danced and clapped for the bands and definitely worked his cuteness to get extra candy :)

His most common phrase lately is "What are you doing?"  He says it all the time!  If I leave the room he yells out, "Mom what are you doing?" When we're driving in the car, making supper, doing laundry, etc.... It's also kind of funny to hear other phrases that I know he's picked up from me and Tony and we didn't even realize we said them that often until he started saying them too.

Last week we went to the open house at the fire station and he got to sit in the firetrucks, which he thought was really cool.

He insisted on going down this slide by himself and it was really fast!  He got a little turned around but still went down a few more times on his own.

He had a great time but I think he was tired of me taking his picture all morning.... Seriously Mom!

Busy summer

We had such a great time this summer!  There are days when I really don't want to go back to work and I want to stay home with Heisman all the time but then I think about the long winter months and wonder if I would feel the same way.  We spent a lot of time playing outside this summer.  We would go to the park, to the pool, play with the neighborhood kids, do sprinklers, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, bike rides, walks, etc.  One of Heisman's favorite things to do this summer was "hit the ball."  He has a little T ball set for outside and even a little bat inside.  He would only hit the ball a few times off the Tee and then he wanted us to actually pitch the ball to him.  We got pretty good at throwing the ball directly at the bat but he actually does a decent job at hitting.  When we weren't busy at home, we visited the zoo, science center, Triad gymnastics and finally the fair.  I have been back to work for almost 2 weeks now and it was pretty hard on me and Heisman.  He still went to daycare one day a week during the summer but now he's back to 4 days a week (I don't work Fridays!!!).  The first few days he would say, "No mom work.  I want to play with Mom."  Awww :(  I'm sure it will just take a few weeks to get back into the swing of things.  He really loves daycare when he gets there.  Anyway, here are a bunch of pictures of our busy summer.....

2 years old!

Heisman is no longer a baby :(  We celebrated Heisman's 2nd birthday a few weeks ago.  We had lunch with Tony at his office and Heisman thinks it's so fun to go see Dad at work.  Plus, the ladies love him and he runs around the place like a mad man!  Heisman's aunt, uncle and cousins (Kelly, Jeremy, Carter, Caden and Cale...The Klines) came over for pizza and then we all went to the pool.  After the pool, we had dirt cake and opened presents.  We also had a fire pit for smores and a slumber party with the Klines.  Fun!!!

He did a great job of blowing out the candles!

Yum, dirt cake

He was not a fan of the gummy worms!

Tony put one of the gummy worms on Heisman's belly and he freaked out!

His favorite present... A DS from the Klines
